una forza della natura, un talento musicale noto da anni – qualcuno ricorderà “Coin Operated Boy” (2003) ottimo biglietto da visita dei suoi Dresden Dolls – ma in questa sede ancor più straripante e tangibile, in quanto messo ruvidamente a nudo: piano e voce. Amanda Palmer è la reincarnazione della divina Euterpe.

2. Gringo Star – The Sides and In Between

inarrivabili. una purezza naif disarmante, una capacità melodica sireniforme – sfido chiunque dopo aver ascoltato il brano linkato almeno tre volte a non restarne ipnotizzato – eppure obliquamente dissonante, non convenzionale al punto da portarli anche stavolta a vendere solo una manciata di copie dell’album.

english version: Incommensurable. This album echoes enchanting naive innocence supported by the melodic power of mermaid spell chant: we challenge anyone who has listened to the linked song at least three times not to be mesmerized. Anyway, the sound of this band is also obliquely dissonant and somewhat weird, scaring away the mainstream public so that, unfortunately, they didin’t climb music charts as they deserved.
